In 1960 in Reggio Emilia the Brevini brothers Renato, Luciano and Corrado created Brevini Riduttori. Today, 45 years later, the company is on the international scene and has its core business in the production and distribution of ‘epicycloid’ reducers, one of the most advanced technological solutions in Power Transmission. Although still bound to the family management imprint given by the three brothers, the company created a well-organized commercial structure enabling to spread its market not only to Europe, but also to countries like India and China. The firm great development also involved the achievement of a complete offer portfolio, which resulted into the take-over of PIV Drives GmbH in 2000. This is a German firm with a very strong brand in the world market, which led Brevini Riduttori to further consolidate its business. At present, the firm prospects are to strengthen its role as a European leader in the field – in the Euro area the group realizes 70% approximately of the total turnover, most of which comes particularly from Italy and Germany – but at the same time not to lose sight of the possibilities offered by emerging markets.
